President’s Message August 2014

Posted on August 12, 2014

The only thing that seems to change more than the job description of a public school superintendent in Indiana is the traditional first day of school. With so many different school calendars that have been put into place over the last several years, just trying to write a welcome back article is very difficult considering that some of you have started school a month ago and a few of us will not open the school house doors for another week or so. Regardless of whether you are mid-way through the first grading period or just organizing back to school meetings for staff, on behalf of the leadership and staff of the IAPSS I want extend our most sincere appreciation for your dedication and servant leadership to the children of Indiana. I am looking forward to meeting many of you at the various seminars, conferences and regional meetings that will be hosted by the IAPSS this year. The power of the IAPSS is that it is an organization comprised of Superintendents who are focused on serving the needs of Superintendents. . I have said it so many times, but I sincerely mean it when I say “I am proud to be a Hoosier public school Superintendent”.
