Job Description:
Provide direction, oversight, and evaluation of high school athletic program, including budgeting, equipment, fundraising, ticket sales, and media coverage.
Supervise athletic staff, including shared responsibility for recruitment, employment, development, retention, and evaluation of coaches and athletic staff.
Oversee the maintenance and use of MHS athletic facilities.
Establish and maintain a consistent athletic code of conduct for all student-athletes, athletic programs, and coaches.
Assist head coaches in developing and maintaining effective feeder programs.
Monitor and enforce all IHSAA, state, and Corporation policies and procedures.
Establish a process to effectively and regularly communicate the department's vision and expectations to all stakeholders.
Supervise athletic contests.
Promote a positive school culture and good sportsmanship amongst students, athletes, coaches and parents.
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal and central office staff.
Experience/Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Passion for positive impact of athletics on the educational mission of the school.
Ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
Ability to construct and oversee a budget.
Ability to oversee and coordinate successful athletic programs.
Ability to lead, mentor, and evaluate adults.

The Board of School Trustees of Whitko Community Schools invites applications for the

The search will remain open until the position is filled. For optimal consideration, materials
should be submitted no later than September 30, 2024. Initially, the candidates names and
materials will remain confidential. The Board anticipates naming a new Superintendent no
later than November 8, 2024. The Board would like the successful candidate to begin
employment as soon as possible but would expect the successful candidate to work with the
school corporation in the development of a transition plan into the position.
